How does it work?

The GPS signals simultaneously originate from 3-12 satellite that orbits above the globe. The GPS software and receiver sorts out these signals and pinpoint the location of the receiver on the earth’s surface. Since this system has nothing to do with the towers of cell phone companies and is operated through satellites, there are less possibilities of lost signals and thus can work even at a place where mobile phones do not work.
